wikileaks

Wikileaks is releasing private info of the goverment of the US. The goverment thinks that this will be hazdardous to the country's public health, economic life and national security. he also thinks that this poses a critical threat to the US security.so in ways wikileaks is a bad thing. but why do they have secrets that they cant tell people. I think that wikileaks is an envasion of privacy. but i also think the goverment shouldn't  have to have such private information. the release of their info shouldn't be that top secret that it's hazardous.

World's First Hybrid Tugboat

Tugboats are usually powered by marine compression ignition engines. The engines are built to be extremely powerful because of the big size of the vessel.  Larger tugboats used in deeper waters have power ratings up to 27,000 horse power.Tugboats, ferries, fishing boats, and dredge vessels give off many carbon admissions. Which is clearly not good for the environment. So they are trying to make a better environment by using a hybrid electric tugboat.  They found it decreased emissions of soot by 73 percent, nitrogen oxides (smog forming compounds) by 51 percent, and CO2 (greenhouse gas) by 27 percent.Which helps the environment  the only problem is that they cost a lot to make. So hopefully they can find a way to make them cheaper because ever step to better environment is a step to success.

Pretty woman

Pretty woman is a great movie that is worth watching twice. It really gets the point across about dreams coming true. It has a fulfilling ending that really wraps it up. It also ends in a way that you could add a second movie to it. Like Father of the Bride it has a fulfilling ending but the second one just adds to it making it better.
It is a wonderful story about a hooker who doesn’t really want to be one, who gets the opportunity to turn her life around. She ends up going with a rich guy who really just wants directions not a hooker. He feels sorry for her so at first he hires her for the night. He gets a call, finds out he needs a date for the week so he hires her for the week. Then she does what a professional hooker would not do which changes everything.
This movie stars Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. They are both amazing actors. Julia Roberts just lights up the movie with her happy, warm and bubbly mood. an example would be when she makes him take the day off of work to just have fun. She also makes it believable when she’s angry.she does not accept it when his lawyer treats her like a hooker.she tells him that if he can’t stick up for her they’re not meant to be. If the moods are acted well it helps out the whole of the movie to make it so you can believe. Richard Gere also does a great job as the rich business man.he goes to big partys,he dates lots of girls,he’s usaully stressed instead of happy. He shows that everything is no nonsense until he meets the girl.Pretty Woman Poster
Overall the movie falls in a pretty predictable pattern. The guy meets the girl. They aren’t meant to fall in love but they do. The guy hurts the girl he says sorry and she forgives him. Then there is a twist in the story where she decides it won’t work so she doesn’t accept his offer. She leaves and they both miss each other. So he goes and finds her.
The lighting was well done in this movie. It really helped to set the scene. A certain type of dark is a romantic dark and another kind is a scary darkness and one is just a darkness of night. One type of bright is “inside out of the darkness” bright, like in the hotel lobby in the evening. the other is “wake up in the morning” bright, like when she’s laying in bed and the sun is streaming through the windows. Certain lightening also helps to represent a beautiful day. The lighting can set the mood, the time of day, and the setting.
Music also helps to set the mood and the setting. Like it’s more believable that it’s a wild party if there is loud music with a strong beat.an example would be at the club when everyone’s dancing and the music loud with a beat. If you would have classical music playing it would be hard to believe that it’s a wild party. Certain types of music can also emphasize the happiness or sadness of the people. An example of mood music would be when Richard plays romantic music when he and Julia are alone in the cafĂ© in the lobby and the room is dimly lit.
In conclussion they did a good job of making the movie one you can sink into. They did a good job of making the movie believable with the acting and effects.every part can make a difference on to how the movie turns out. This movie had a good turnout.

solution for malnutrition

A nutritious blue-green algae, known as spirulina, has been added to school meals in Jordan to help fight chronic malnutrition anaemia in children.Almost one in ten Jordanian children suffer from chronic malnutrition, or long-term protein or energy deficiency, while a third are anaemic, according to a survey done by the Jordanian Department of Statistics (DOS)  in March. Spirulina has a role in fighting malnourishment, especially in children, and is often referred to "its low cost of farming as it can be grown even on infertile land and without a large water supply."it's amazing how an easy growing algae can solve a malnutrition problem throughout many youg children.

saving tigers.

The historic International Tiger Conservation Forum ended there meeting today with plans for better financial backing for saving the wild tigers. They are working hard to save the tigers but they will need all the funding they can get to save more tigers. At the moment they are working on a 12 year plan for saving tigers. They are meeting every month to get it all organized. They hope the government can step in to help support the cause of the tigers. The sooner the tigers get helped the better and with government support it would all go faster. so the best thing for us to do would be to join committees to save the tigers.

It is successful because it is something that’s simple and easy to remember but still significant

It is simple yet eye-catching with the name brand right underneath

It has the name of the brand with a catchy and good slogan

It’s simple and symbolic

A good logo should be simple but eye-catching and something that will stick in people’s heads. Sometimes color does that, sometimes it’s a slogan and sometimes it will be the symbolism of the logo.

battery recycling

It's not good to throw away batteries. Many people throw away household batteries. they think that it is ok to just throw away those batteries because they have less mercury in them. In reality it hurts the enviroment to throw any batteries away. They all should be recycled to help conserve our earth.
Older batteries are even more important to recycle. In batteries older than 1997 there are more toxic wastes then in batteries we now have. Some contain up to ten times the mercury. So dont throw away batteries recycle them.

endagered habitat in india

The Environment Ministry has rejected at least 9 projects across India — saying they would destroy the habitat of endangered animals. Of 25 projects submitted to the Standing Committee of the National Board of Wildlife for approval, nine have been rejected outright. If these projects had been cleared it would have sliced open the habitat of the tiger, the red panda and the Indian gharial. India’s Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh, says that they are not hinering development they are just respecting the animal's habitats and the wildlife protection act.

The USA has established a unique culture of gun violence

The USA established a unique culture of gun violence. Approximately 11 thousand homicides happened in the US in 2002. Gun violence is brought up quite a bit in the evening news. The government keeps fighting wars, which is not a good example either. Charleston Heston went to promote guns to places that just had shootings.
In the evening news gun violence news gets brought up frequently. An example of that would be how Columbine high school shooting gets broadcasted on the news. Also how they make shows like “Cops” showing people continually breaking laws and getting arrested. They also show incidents like what happen in “Cops” on the evening news. The twin towers crashing were also on the news often. They have the president talking about wars and killings a lot too. The evening news influences people to do gun violence because why not if every one else is?
The Government keeps fighting wars which could influence the people of America to fight. In 1953 they overthrow the president of Iran and put in a dictator. 1954 they overthrew the president of Guatemala which killed 200,000 civilians. In 1963 backs assassination of South Vietnamese president. 1963- 1975 Americans kill 4 million people in Southeast Asia. If authorities like the president support killings in places far away how can they expect the people of their country to show a better image? If the government doesn’t want the people within their country to kill people, they should not project a view of America being killers world wide.
Charleston Heston went and promoted guns to two different places right after they had killings. He went to Columbine right after the high school shooting. He went there to try and project a view that guns were not a bad thing. He also said that guns were great for protection and that America should protect itself. He also went to Flint right after a 6 year old boy killed a 6 year old girl to project the same view. It was pretty much a slap in the face for both places. They had just lost friends and family because of shootings. Then Charleston Heston has the nerve to show up in their towns to say guns are good. That is not going to help for people to be less violent with guns.
The USA has a unique culture of gun violence. Some people may even shoot others just to be on the news. Others do to follow in the presidents foot steps. Some have always been taught differently. It’s scary to think about how many more homicides there are in the US compared to the rest of the world. No one wants gun violence but then why does the US influence it?

bowling for columbine.

michael moore is trying to put across the point that america is scared which makes them be more violent. for example the reason why the columbine shooters shot themselves after they attacked the school was because they were scared about what would happen to them. michael moore is also trying to get people thinking about who is the reason for this. many people have answers but what is the real reason or are their many answers.

michael moore supports his argument in many ways. he supports it with statistics millons of people die every year because of americans. americans also have by far the largest number of homocides. he also supports it in animation witch shows that ever since the people came from europe to america they have been scared. that is why they came in the first place;because they were scared. he also has an interveiw with merilyn manson who many believe is the cause for many killings.in the interveiw they covered why would only americans react to his music that way.they also listen to his music in other parts of the world and there is not nearly as much killing there. they also say that the president is responsible for alot of it because look at all the people americans kill over seas.michael moore also is trying to get across that the gun laws are way too leanient.

Taylor Swift
Our project is about an amazing country singer Taylor Swift. She is an extremely popular country singer who has enriched many with her voice. She produced her first record through Big Machine Records. After that she got published in many magazines. Three of her cds are already out on the market and she has another one coming out soon that is already advertised. When they put her in the magazines and interview her on TV they advertise her which wants people buy her merchandise like cds, shirts, and posters, and books. They also recently casted her in a movie this also helps to get her more advertisement.
French Senate passes ban on full Muslim veils
The French senate has recently banned the use of full face veils in public, in France. This new law will greatly impact the Muslim ladies some who are used to wearing the “niqab”. Some people claim that it bothers them to see people in full face veils. Others have even said that it scared them to see people with full face veils. It shouldn’t be such a big deal; people should have freedom of religion and freedom to wear what they wish.
The French senate is being a little hasty with this new law. Many people believe that the “niqab” Is not part of there religion but it could just be that they have misinterpreted their holy books. Religious books are often hard to interpret. Depending on what your viewpoint is it can seem to mean completely different things with the exact same words. For example if it says for women to wear a head covering. Some people think it means the top of their head others may think it means their whole head face included.
People should have the freedom to wear what they want. People shouldn’t let other peoples clothing bother them so much. One of their reasons is because some Muslims are terrorists. It’s not like it’s going to make that much of a difference by wearing different clothing.
They have very pathetic reasons for their new law. It was totally unnecessary to even make this law. What’s wrong with covering your face? By allowing this law it might even come to the point where it’s illegal to cover other parts of your body like your hands arms and feet. What about on a cold day? If you can’t wear scarves your face could end up getting very cold.
They could easily scrap the law which would cause way less of a commotion. Why cause havoc when it isn’t necessary? Another thing is the majority of the France population is Muslim. So what is the point of fighting laws against majority? If you were worried about them killing you before making laws against them won’t make things better
So why make a ban against something that is not worthy the havoc it’ll cause. Just scrap the law. Let people have freedom of religion and let them wear what they wish.
