The USA has established a unique culture of gun violence

The USA established a unique culture of gun violence. Approximately 11 thousand homicides happened in the US in 2002. Gun violence is brought up quite a bit in the evening news. The government keeps fighting wars, which is not a good example either. Charleston Heston went to promote guns to places that just had shootings.
In the evening news gun violence news gets brought up frequently. An example of that would be how Columbine high school shooting gets broadcasted on the news. Also how they make shows like “Cops” showing people continually breaking laws and getting arrested. They also show incidents like what happen in “Cops” on the evening news. The twin towers crashing were also on the news often. They have the president talking about wars and killings a lot too. The evening news influences people to do gun violence because why not if every one else is?
The Government keeps fighting wars which could influence the people of America to fight. In 1953 they overthrow the president of Iran and put in a dictator. 1954 they overthrew the president of Guatemala which killed 200,000 civilians. In 1963 backs assassination of South Vietnamese president. 1963- 1975 Americans kill 4 million people in Southeast Asia. If authorities like the president support killings in places far away how can they expect the people of their country to show a better image? If the government doesn’t want the people within their country to kill people, they should not project a view of America being killers world wide.
Charleston Heston went and promoted guns to two different places right after they had killings. He went to Columbine right after the high school shooting. He went there to try and project a view that guns were not a bad thing. He also said that guns were great for protection and that America should protect itself. He also went to Flint right after a 6 year old boy killed a 6 year old girl to project the same view. It was pretty much a slap in the face for both places. They had just lost friends and family because of shootings. Then Charleston Heston has the nerve to show up in their towns to say guns are good. That is not going to help for people to be less violent with guns.
The USA has a unique culture of gun violence. Some people may even shoot others just to be on the news. Others do to follow in the presidents foot steps. Some have always been taught differently. It’s scary to think about how many more homicides there are in the US compared to the rest of the world. No one wants gun violence but then why does the US influence it?
